Act Six: Snow Day
Yesterday we finally received a nice dumping of snow...missing Christmas by just a couple of days. My husband and I shovelled our neighbours driveway and side walk.

Act Five: Food Bank
Today while picking up some last minute groceries we donated several items to the food bank bin at our local grocery store to help feed a family in need over the holiday season.

Act Four: Pampers Points
We were lucky enough to win free diapers for a year from Pampers the other week so today I donated the 400 points I had saved on their site so far to "The Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths".
For nearly 40 years, the Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (CFSID) has been Canada's only national foundation solely focused on SIDS, and also dedicated to reducing infant mortality and other sudden and unexpected infant and child deaths including stillbirth and miscarriage. (pampers.ca)
My hope is that some day the number of infant deaths will greatly decrease and I completely support this foundation in their research to help make that a reality.

Act Three: Grocery Cart
Today, after finishing grocery shopping I left the quarter in the cart. It wasn't anything big but maybe someone who doesn't have a quarter handy will appreciate the small gesture.
An act of kindness doesn't have to be something big, some times the simplest things are just as nice.

Act Two : Coupon
Today when we were out buying diapers we taped a $10 off coupon on another box in the store so that some one else could save money as well. Hopefully it's a nice surprise for the person that comes across it.

Act One : Books for Kids
Today we completed our first act of kindness. We delivered a new unwrapped book to our local library for the book for kids campaign. The books will be distributed to children in need in our community over the holidays.
Our hope is that the book will make a deserving child smile because every child should be able to experience the joys of reading.

One Act One Smile
Just over two months ago I gave birth to the sweetest little baby girl. It has been a truly miraculous experience and has really opened me up to all of the great things that I have been blessed with in my life.
Watching my daughter every day makes being a positive role model my number one priority. My wish for her is that she grows up with a kind heart and wants to help others in need.
So I've decided to start a year of kindness to show my daughter, myself and others that if one simple act can make one person smile then you've made a difference. The year will consist of random acts of kindness, donations, volunteering etc, and I will keep track of it all here, mostly for myself and for my daughter to look at some day. I'm not looking for praise or anything in return, I just want to give back to others and make a difference a long the way. I know I will learn a lot about myself and I'm very excited about the change this experience will make within my heart.
I was going to wait until the new year, but in the spirit of the holidays I will start to spread the cheer now, why wait?
